Learners will have a unique opportunity to contribute to a movement for justice and peace resounding across Canada and the world.
Interns will have the opportunity to learn about social media and marketing, stakeholder management, community engagement, and communications. Interns will likely be responsible for any combination of the following duties:
- Curate a list of resources (educational, information / news, stakeholder, etc.) for the internal teams and coalition partners.
- Collaborate with other teams (particularly strategy, media, and research teams) to curate and develop educational and information content for internal teams’ and public use.
- Research and update the social media influencer tracker. Create an outreach and template and reach out to influencers for collaboration opportunities.
- Support the planning for the daily Digital Taskforce (including brainstorming ideas for campaigns, creating content, and sharing with volunteers).
- Identify key stakeholders (e.g., educational institutions and organizations), add them to a tracker, and support the team with outreach.
- Support outreach to mainstream media outlets and political contacts.
- Monitor mainstream media coverage and develop one-pagers of all articles, reports, blogs, and audio-visual coverage produced by any media for key company events and initiatives.
- Help develop audience target lists and user profiles.
- Coordinate with schools, universities, and community organizations to deliver educational programs and initiatives.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for volunteers, community members, and stakeholders.
- Evaluate the impact of educational initiatives and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
We will provide interns with 5 hours of mentorship per team. Throughout mentorship, interns may highlight skills for professional development during their internship, and our team will work to provide interns with appropriate options. Interns may seek career advice, job shadowing and networking opportunities at their request. Meetings structured around each intern’s outlined goals will occur on a weekly basis and will continue throughout the duration of the internship. Students will also be provided with a dedicated supervisor for the entirety of their internship.

About the company
Canadians For Palestine is an organization made up of dedicated Canadians working to put an end to anti-Palestinian racism and islamophobia. Our mission is to create educational materials on the issue, provide legal assistance, lobby, and advocate for individuals subjected to racism and unfair treatment. The organization has 5 critical fronts: education, legal, media, political, and research, and has attracted over 7000 community members of all backgrounds to advocate with it under a unified strategy. Through peaceful advocacy, we aim to overcome anti-Palestinian racism and islamophobia by standing for justice, equity, and human rights that transcend borders and are not limited by nationality, religion, ethnicity, or bodies.
